Background

Kilimanjaro Aloe Plantation was established at the beginning of the year 2000 with the sole intention of providing Aloe Vera products at an affordable price. Our plantation is based in the Kilimanjaro Region, not far from the town of Moshi and on the hot plains below Africa’s highest mountain.

500 acres of rich fertile volcanic soil on the hot plains below Kilimanjaro Mountain is the home to over five million Aloe barbadensis plants of the varieties Miller and Chinensisi.

Although Africa is the home of the Aloe Vera, it is mainly grown commercially in the USA, Australia, South America and Asia. South Africa has a niche market with Aloe barbadensis Ferox, which is gathered from the wild. We are the first commercial Aloe plantation in Sub Sahara Africa.
